ACQUIRING TEXTBOOKS
Students are responsible for obtaining all textbooks. The Office of Extension and Distance Education recommends that students order their textbooks approximately 3 weeks before classes begin and pay careful attention to length of time for shipping.
There are several options for acquiring textbooks for
Appalachian’s off-campus programs. Most
notably, the Appalachian State University Bookstore has all textbooks available
for purchase. Students who wish to order
through the University Bookstore may do so beginning December 3, and instructions
for ordering online are available at http://www.bookstore.appstate.edu/online.html. (If the student prefers to phone or fax the
order to the University Bookstore, we recommend calling 888/792-6657 [or
800/355-4084, ext 3070] for more information.)
There are, also, a number of online textbook vendors from which a
student may purchase textbooks. To
access vendor websites, one may simply enter “bookstores” in a search engine (e.g.,Yahoo or Google) and
investigate the various websites. Additionally, former students may have
textbooks which they are willing to make available to others. Referring to the textbook ISBN number posted
on the Off-Campus Schedule of Classes will enable students to ensure they’re
obtaining the correct textbooks.
