SUMMER 2009 - ACADEMIC CALENDAR

A REMINDER: On-line access to the University's Students Records and Registration System is available only from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. With the exception of holidays, the Office of Extension & Distance Education is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday; the Student Accounts Office is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Any transaction required below must occur during this hours.
REGISTRATION FOR ALL TERMS OF SUMMER
SCHOOL 2009
Off-campus students who will be continuing
in their cohorts in Summer 2009 should plan to register March 30 through April 10 .
Each
continuing off-campus student should check your access date/time using the Registration Status link located on the Student Services menu in AppalNET.
This page includes appointment information, required advising status and any holds that would prevent registration. Registration
prior to the beginning of the term will assure students have sufficient time
to secure textbooks.
REGISTRATION BILLING
STATEMENTS WILL BE MAILED TO THE STUDENT'S PERMANENT ADDRESS. Payment for registration must be received by the due date as listed on the billing statement. If payment is not received by the due date, the student's registration
will be canceled.

drop-add period for a Off-Campus Summer 2009 course, please contact the Office
of Extension & Distance Education.
Summer Semester:
May 26 through August 7
| May 25 | WRS open to continuing/returning off-campus students who have NOT already registered for courses in this semester. |
| May 26 | First day of classes; "Drop-Add" begins. |
| May 27 | "Drop-Add" ends; last day to add a course or change the section of a course. |
| July 9 | Last day to drop a Summer Semester course or withdraw without academic penalty. |
| August 7 | Last day of classes; final examinations. |
First 5-Week Term: May 26 through June 26
| May 25 | WRS open to continuing/returning off-campus students who have NOT already registered for courses in this term. |
| May 26 | First day of classes; "Drop-Add" begins. |
| May 27 | "Drop-Add" ends; last day to add a course or change the section of a course. |
| June 15 | Last day to drop a First 5-Week course or withdraw without academic penalty |
| June 26 | Last day of classes; final examinations. |
First Graduate/Teacher Term: June 8 through July 2 |

| June 8 | Registration; ( WRS); first day of classes; “Drop-Add” begins. |
| June 9 | “Drop-Add” ends; last day to add a course or change the section of a course; last day to drop a class and receive a refund for reduction in class load. |
| June 23 | Last day to drop a Graduate/Teacher course without academic penalty. |
| July 2 | Last day of classes; final examinations. |
Second 5-Week Term:
July 7 through August 7
| June 11-12 | Early Registration for Second term of summer |
| July 6 | WRS open to continuing/returning off-campus students who have NOT already registered for courses in this term. |
| July 7 | Classes begin; "Drop-Add" begins. |
| July 8 | "Drop-Add" ends; last day to add a course or change the section of a course. |
| July 27 | Last day to drop a Second 5-Week course or withdraw without academic penalty. |
| August 7 | Last day of classes; final examinations. |
