Course Numbering System
| 0001-0999 | Developmental | 4000-4999 | Senior | |
| 1000-1999 | Freshman | 5000 and above | Graduate | |
| 2000-2999 | Sophomore | 6000 and above | Specialist | |
| 3000-3999 | Junior | 7000 and above | Doctoral |
(Prior to fall, 2001 courses numbered 4500-4999 were "Senior/Graduate"; i.e., they could be used as part of either an undergraduate or graduate program.) This numbering system does not preclude the possibility of students taking courses above or below the level of their classification provided they meet stated requirements.
